Washington, DC — Today, Indivisible announced its endorsement of four Congressional candidates across three states.
- Renee Hoyos (TN-02)
- Melanie D’Arrigo (NY-03)
- Audrey Denney (CA-01)
- Josh Harder (CA-10)
“Indivisible is thrilled to add four new progressives to it’s growing list of endorsed candidates. Like those from previous rounds, these candidates are committed not just to living their progressive values in Congress but also to working alongside the grassroots to push our government forward,” IE political director Lucy Solomon said. “This election is an opportunity to carry out much-needed reform and to build upon the blue wave of 2018. The candidates we are endorsing today will be part of that push for progress and for that reason, we will work tirelessly to get them elected.”
This round of endorsement is the first after many states have held primaries ahead of the general election in November. The announcement comes as a reminder that while the Democratic Presidential race has narrowed, the race to control Congress is still shaping up around the country. For example, Denney, Harder, and Hoyos have already advanced from their state’s primary election while D’Arrigo has yet to win her party’s nomination in New York.
To earn Indivisible’s national endorsement, a candidate must clear a tough three-stage process that requires broad support from local Indivisible group members at multiple points. All endorsed candidates must have a strong progressive platform aligned with our movement’s values and the enthusiastic support of informed energized voters in their district.
