Indivisible’s Statement on the Grand Jury Decision in Breonna Taylor Case

Breonna Taylor should be alive today, and her killers should have been fired and prosecuted for her murder. Light, tangential charges for one officer in the case are a mockery of justice. Today’s news is infuriating, heartbreaking, and another devastating reminder of how very very far we are from justice or safety for Black people in this country.

The Indivisible Project’s Statement on the Passage of HR 51, DC Statehood

The problems facing our democracy are systemic and deeply ingrained in our systems, but today's vote for D.C. statehood is a monumental first step toward justice, equality, and fairness for the 700,000 people who live in the District. Today we saw firsthand just how terrified and hostile Republicans get when it comes to granting political power to D.C., specifically to the Black people and people of color who live here. We know that the road ahead for statehood won't be easy, but Indivisibles across the country are ready to fight for what's right.

The Indivisible Project’s Statement on the Historic Vote for DC Statehood

For the hundreds of thousands of residents in the District, this vote is about the promise of an equitable democracy, but it is also about justice. A historically-Black city, D.C.’s lack of statehood is a remnant of Reconstruction when racist white politicians sought to prevent the District’s majority-Black residents from gaining political power. GOP Senators are echoing this history even now in their pathetic opposition to D.C. statehood.

The Indivisible Project’s Statement on the Terrorist Attack in New Zealand

Our hearts are breaking for our Muslim friends and neighbors, and our global community. We see you, we love you and we stand shoulder to shoulder with you in the fight for a future without fear. We absolutely must recognize that the motivation for this horror was rooted in Islamophobia and white nationalism, poisons that are actively being spread by elected officials, pundits, and a rising white nationalist movement here in our own country and around the world.
